hi, I’m Rebecca
I am an interdisciplinary researcher, teacher, designer, and writer with a passion for exploring intersections between public health, ecology, and built environments. By sharing my thoughts and experiences, I hope to inspire curiosity across communities and to spark meaningful conversations.
Trilingual in spanish, portuguese, and english, am particularly interested in understanding how history shapes landscape, culture, and health throughout america (the entire western hemisphere). Throughout my writing and graphic explorations, you’ll find me advocating for creative approaches to decolonization — of design, of education, of language — which I have learned are necessary for moving toward toward justice and sustainability in the 21st century and beyond. I also believe in the power of carefully designed research to foster meaningful impact.
In my “free time,” you might find me running, biking, taking mediocre film photos, painting, practicing yoga, practicing horticulture, traveling, learning new languages, and finishing my PhD.
This repository of words stands alongside my consulting practice to share in accessible detail what I’m up to.
